Born and raised in Michigan City, Indiana. Graduate of Ball State University. Zachary’s focus of study was Telecommunications and Theater. After graduation he worked as a videographer for a CBS affiliate out of South Bend, IN before moving on to television commercial work a few years later.
Intrigued by the work of firefighters while videotaping emergency scenes for the news over the years, he decided to pursue the goal of becoming a fireman himself.
After a couple of years being a volunteer firefighter, he became a career firefighter in South Bend, IN in 2010.
He has been writing non stop since his first play, Second Glance, was published and then produced internationally. A short ten minute play, The Comfort of Concrete, was also published by Off the Wall Plays in London. His latest play, The Trail’s Creek, was completed in early 2022 and is available for production. Another of his ten minute plays, A Factually Inaccurate Conversation, was short listed for the Pint Sized Plays contest held in the UK in 2023, and then produced in Lafayette, IN and Cornwall, NY in 2024. His Ascending the Folded Loop has recently been picked up by Brooklyn Publishers and will be made available in the fall of 2024.
